LL Track 2021

I am currently posting this as a Sophomore in high school at Lincoln Lutheran for my video editing class. When we were given the assignment and told we could choose what we wanted to do I knew track would be a great opportunity. I chose to take it in the direction I did because I wanted it to be more about the atmosphere of the track team than the actual sport, so I included a lot of shots of the team separate from participating in their events while just hanging out and cheering others on. I am proudest of the start of the video, I feel that it goes with the music well and effectively introduces the video. The hardest part of putting this video together was figuring out how much of a clip I wanted to include without it being too long or short. While at the track meet I tried to get as much footage as possible but since track is run over a large distance it’s hard to get good quality video when they’re running in the distance. I always tried to at least get the start and finish but that’s not always possible. I also had a hard time finding music and matching up the lengths. Through these challenges I learned how to take the most important part of the video and work with it, because I’m not always going to get the footage I want. I need to make the best out of what I have. If I could do the project over again I would get more shots from the beginning of the track meet and maybe incorporate throwing because I didn’t get much this time. I would also consider asking someone else if they could help me out video because it was nearly impossible to shoot, run across to the other side of the field, and then shoot again. If another person helped me I would be able to get both shots easily.

I have just started my website and am so excited to start personalizing it. I am a middle schooler at Lincoln Lutheran and I enjoy playing sports, playing the saxaphone, and reading. I believe in God, my Lord and Saviour and really hope you do too!
